Thousands of new products to be released at this week’s Halloween & Party Expo
Expanded categories and new special events provide buyers unprecedented access to products
Trumbull, CT (January 21, 2019) - North America’s largest and only event dedicated to Halloween, Party, Haunt and Celebration is set to open its doors later this week, January 25-27 in New Orleans. For the second year in a row, Halloween & Party Expo will be co-located with HAuNTcon: The Haunted Attraction National Tradeshow and Convention, facilitating collaboration between the attraction and retail industries. With pre-registered attendance tracking ahead and more than 350 industry leading companies confirmed to exhibit, the event will be the launching pad for new products for the 2019 season and bring together retailers and manufacturers for three days of sourcing, learning and inspiration.
Thousands of new products are expected to be debuted across an expanded selection of product categories including costumes, party, accessories, makeup, novelties, gifts, toys, business services, props, décor and more. In addition to the Halloween & Party Expo show floor, which will host 50+ exhibitors new to the event, buyers will have access to the HAuNTcon show floor, with new early morning hours on Saturday, January 26, for dedicated time to source unique and one-of-a-kind products.
To further facilitate the discovery of new products, this year’s special event lineup has been expanded to include an all new Friday Night Fashion Show featuring looks and products from more than forty leading companies including elope, Scared of My Shadow, Rubie’s, Studio Oz, Disguise, Dreamgirl, Aeromax, Fun World, Mehron, Pet Krewe, Rock Star Wigs, Zagone Studios, and more. Buyers in attendance will have the opportunity to win $5,000 in merchandise credit giveaways as well as enjoy entertainment and networking with industry colleagues. Additional runway shows featuring Rubie’s and Starline will also take place throughout the event on the Haunted Trends Main Stage.
The Main Stage schedule will also feature the second annual Artist Battleground makeup competition, where competitors Moon Creations, Alcone Company and Woochie by Cinema Secrets bring one of the most in demand products to life on stage. In addition, new product previews will be streamed live from stage, and Retail Minded will be moderating exclusive panels and discussions shaped by attendee feedback that will allow retailers to put best practices for staffing, merchandising, online sales and more into action when they return to their stores.
With an enhanced focus on new products and expanded product verticals, the event and the Halloween & Costume Association have again invested in a Buyers Club Appointment Setting Program to drive relationships and order writing on the show floor. The program was introduced at the 2018 event, and after a successful launch, the Buyers Club will be expanded for 2019 to include 500 hand-selected retailers, providing them with concierge assistance to help them find products and is expected to deliver 3,000 appointments between buyers and exhibitors. The program will run alongside a new initiative for the event, MATCH!, a customized guaranteed meetings opportunity, which has been developed to further foster relationships and enhance ROI for both attendees and exhibiting companies.
